Going to Back to Health has been a real God send as we can now work out and be okay. Run races and not feel achy sore. Walk to school quick and not feel throbbing in our sides.
What have we learned from all this?
First we found the following amazing chart here
Injury Prevention can SAVE you money and pain!
Those cute flip flops that we wore forever and I mean forever-belong in the trash. The cheapie flip flop sandals that come in every colour and style are not good for our lovely tootsies!
When you think about it, your feet carry your entire lovely body all day. They walk on hard floors, paved roads and gravely paths. Dr Whyte- a medical expert at Discovery said the following in an article published here..
"The truth is many of our favorite flip-flops can be sending us feet first into serious injuries to our feet, ankles, knees, hips, and even our back. Over time these injuries can lead to serious bone, tendon, and joint damage.
Believe it or not, there's been a lot of research regarding flip-flops. A recent study found that flip-flop wearers tend to grip the footwear with their toes, causing shorter stride length and improper force when their feet hit the ground. What does this mean? Basically, a powerful force is transferred up our legs, putting additional stress on our lower body" Dr. Whyte: Flip Flops-Do they hurt your feet?
Don't your feet deserve better care? We say YES!
And girls you can do it stylishly too!
After we cleaned the flip flops out of our closet we learned the following:
1. Sandals like Birkenstocks have a nice arch and come in many cute, stylish colours! Even Vogue had an article on how Birks are popping up on the runway! Check it out: Vogue Girls wear birks
2. Leah loves her tanned sandals with a closed back. The crisscross strap around her ankle, gives her plenty of support and she can still wear her insole!
3. Even if it's hot you can still wear cute flats instead of sandals!
So if you are a hardcore flip flop lover, take a second and re-think your lovely feet...they deserve better! What do you think? Are you for or against flip-flops? Share with us! We would love to hear from you!
