It's Ash Wednesday today, which is the first day of Lent. Oddly enough this year we find ourselves grateful for Ash Wednesday. Are we crazy?? haha yes, given our name. Normally Ash Wednesday rolls around and we moan and groan that we have to change our ways. Give up our sweets, our splurges, our movies, etc and focus on the spiritual life. This year though the moans and groans aren't there.
We are welcoming the change and the special mark that Ash Wednesday brings. The countdown is on friends! This winter for us has been particularly long and brutal!! Colds, Flus, horrible winter weather, For example*Deep Freeze the first week of March??* But today marks a small shift in change. In forty days we will be celebrating Easter. In forty days it will be the end of April. In forty days we will hopefully be Auntys! And so our hearts today are focused on gratitude.
Here's our list today. What's on yours? Share with us in the comments below! We love hearing from you.
We are grateful for:
The beginning of Lent and this season of growth.
We are grateful for:
Parents that still indulge their adult children by making them chocolate chip pancakes for dinner on Shrove Tuesday.
We are grateful for:
The birds are back! We have a feeder by our dining room window and the other day while eating breakfast saw a pair of cardinals and a family of finches.
We are grateful for:
Babies. Everywhere. We were at our first shower this past Saturday for a lady in the Parish. It was such a celebration of new life! Our sisters showers begin this coming weekend and we are so very excited. Bring on the baby love!
We are grateful for:
Our dad's fruit salad making skills. He is the King of chopping and we love love how perfectly he dices all the fruit. We love your chopping skills dad!
We are grateful for:
The hope that March brings. Turning the calendar and looking at a new picture, seeing all the lovely events/showers etc that are happening this month.
We are grateful for:
You. All your feedback, comments, Facebook sharing. Thank you for stopping by friends!
